Are you considering soundproofing your home?
Do you have noisy neighbours or are you finding noise from outside distracting? Perhaps you have thin walls through which you can even hear full conversations from next door? Certainly, as more people work from home, noises such as building works, car horns and even local dogs and footfall can play their part, especially if you live in a busy or well-populated area. This is becoming increasingly accepted as part of modern society, however there can be ways we can suggest and implement that you can reduce or eliminate the sound that you hear in your home.
What can we offer?
We are happy to come out and inspect your home to see how we can improve this for you. We will look at multiple solutions to this problem and our aim is to reduce airborne noise by up to 70% which can make a huge difference to your peace of mind and make your home a more serene place.
The most common solution is soundproofing between you and your neighbour, this is usually carried out on standard brick walls. Some families however, do require a particular section of their home or a particular room to be soundproofed such as a home office, studio space or even home cinemas. This is usually to reduce the impact of noises such as televisions, computers, sound devices and even loud conversations from other rooms or neighbours.
The process of soundproofing usually starts with us assessing the type of noise that is bothering you the most and suggesting the appropriate solution. These categories are airborne noise, such as the examples mentioned above, and impact noise, which can include footsteps, door slamming, or music bass. Next, we will look at the weaknesses in the walls, and ensure all gaps or potential weaknesses which may be letting in sound are filled in or reinforced. Following this we will apply either soundboard or soundproofing plasterboard directly to the wall, or we may need to put in additional structures in the case of very loud noise pollution, this can even involve building additional faux walls. Sound can not only travel through walls, but also floors, so we can at look at your properties’ structure to see how best we can combat the noise you are experiencing.
We know that achieving peace and quiet in your own home is important, so we will do our absolute best to supply you with a solution.
